Who is Brendan Arnold

Hailing from Australia, Brendan’s involvement in the sport of cycling has spanned over 25 years. He has successfully competed on both national and international stages, including solid performances in finals at world cup events and earning podium spots at national races. Brendan is currently a Level 3 certified BMX coach and was instrumental in developing and leading the High Performance BMX program in Ontario. He has also recently developed a talent program called Rising Stars, that will identify talented junior athletes and develop them into future High Performance athletes.

 

Brendan has worked with some of the best coaches in the world including current National Team coaches for Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

 

In addition to a certification in Health Fitness and Sports Training, Brendan is currently finishing his Human Resources certification. He is not only an avid cyclist but his other interests include golf, cricket and spending time with his family. Brendan competes in both XC and BMX – mostly just for fun. Brendan’s slogan “success does not rest” exemplifies his passion for the sport and his enthusiasm across all disciplines of cycling.

 

Brendan also was instrumental in contributing to the development of the Cycling Canada Long Term Athlete Development Model and the current NCCP coaching structure.

  • Coached Athletes to over 20 National Championships since 2008

  • National Team Coach at 2007 World Championships - BMX

  • Canada Games Coach (Team Ontario) - 2009/2013 - Road and MTB

  • Ontario Cycling Head Coach and HP Manager from 2006-2014

  • Currently Ontario Cycling BMX Development Coach (Contract Position)
